You might feel stuck in patterns that don’t make sense—even when you try to think your way through them. Maybe you feel overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or others, or unsure why certain reactions keep showing up. You may know something feels off—but don’t quite have the words for it yet. You’re not alone in this. And more importantly—there is a way to understand and shift these patterns.

A SAFE PLACE TO SLOW DOWN AND BEGIN I’m Rachel, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and I offer a gentle, supportive space where we begin by slowing things down—so you can start to make sense of what’s happening inside. In our work together, you won’t be rushed or pushed. We focus first on building safety and trust—because real change happens when your nervous system no longer feels like it has to stay on high alert.

HOW I HELP Many of the patterns we struggle with are not just “thought-based”—they live in the body and nervous system. My approach integrates Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Polyvagal Theory to help you understand not just why you feel the way you do—but how those patterns were formed, and how they can begin to shift.

Together, we work to: understand your emotional and relational patterns gently process past experiences and trauma responses build nervous system regulation and stability reconnect you with a sense of safety within yourself create more meaningful connection in your relationships.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Therapy with me is a slow, intentional, and deeply supportive process. We begin by exploring your story and making connections, while also building practical tools to help regulate your day-to-day experience. As safety grows, we begin working more directly with emotional triggers and deeper patterns—at a pace that feels right for you.

Over time, clients often begin to: feel more regulated and less overwhelmed understand their emotional responses more clearly experience less reactivity and more choice feel more connected to themselves and others.

A PERSONAL APPROACH My path into this work was shaped by both personal and professional experience. Growing up in a large family impacted by mental illness, addiction, and generational trauma, I developed a deep curiosity about how people adapt, survive, and ultimately heal. I bring that understanding into the therapy room with compassion, authenticity, and respect for your unique experience.

WHO THIS IS FOR This approach may be a strong fit if you: feel emotionally overwhelmed or chronically stressed struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, or burnout feel disconnected from yourself or your relationships want a gentle, body-based approach to healing—not just talking.

YOUR NEXT STEP You don’t need to have the right words or everything figured out to begin. If this approach resonates with you, you’re welcome to book a free 20-minute consultation. We’ll take it one step at a time and see if this feels like the right fit for you.

You may understand your thoughts—but still feel stuck in your emotions. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in emotional patterns they can’t fully explain. You might find yourself reacting in ways that don’t make sense, feeling emotions that seem too intense—or not feeling much at all. And even when you try to talk about it, something still feels out of reach. That’s because not all emotional experiences live at the level of words.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO UNDERSTAND YOURSELF.

I’m Alexandra, a Registered Psychotherapist, and I help individuals access and work through the deeper emotional layers that often drive anxiety, depression, inner conflict, and relationship struggles. In our work together, you won’t be analyzed or rushed. Instead, we create a calm, supportive space where you can begin to explore what’s happening beneath the surface—safely and at your own pace.

HOW WE WORK (THE METHOD) I use Emotional Image Therapy (EIT)—a unique approach that helps you access emotions through imagery rather than relying on words alone. Through guided visualization and symbolic exploration, we gently connect with deeper emotional experiences—often the ones that are hardest to reach, but most important to understand. This allows you to: uncover the roots of emotional patterns process experiences that feel “stuck” release emotional blocks begin to feel more integrated, clear, and grounded This is where meaningful, lasting change happens.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Clients who work with me often begin to: understand themselves on a deeper level feel less overwhelmed by their emotions experience more clarity and inner stability shift long-standing patterns that previously felt stuck This is not about quick fixes—it’s about real transformation.

When I was young, I wanted to be a writer. I went into journalism and that’s where I figured out why I was so obsessed with stories. True stories heal us.

I have spent the last 30 years, both personally and professionally, in the field of addiction. I became increasingly sad as I witnessed the suffering that goes along with substance abuse and behavioural addictions. I learned as a volunteer and mentor that helping people uncover their true story also creates healing. So, I went to Yorkville University and obtained a master’s degree in counselling psychology.

Along the way I found inspiration in several theories. The right intervention depends on what happened to you, and what you told yourself about it.

I have found these techniques work well for addiction but in many other circumstances including disordered eating, depression, and anxiety. Today, I help adults, youth, couples and families to improve their mental health, their relationships, and overall quality of life.

The best part is every story can have a new ending.
